Last time when I went to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, by Waheguru’s grace, I had opportunity to get prasad in langar. While sitting in pangat, I overheard conversation between two elderly women as they were sitting very close and were speaking somewhat louder. But the conclusion of discussion was quite encouraging. I want to share same.
One lady explained that a practice has been started by her daughter-in-law in their kitchen. It has been instrumental in contributing towards change of environment of home. When we cook something as prasad, it has to have its sanctity. The in-charge of kitchen is particular about hygiene and everything is cooked with devotion and faith. One gets moral pressure to recite waheguru’s name while cooking. Definitely, ordinarily cooked food and items cooked as prasad, there is lot of difference as it carries vibrations respectively. The lady whenever comes to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, takes AMRIT from gurudwara to her home. The same is kept with full reverence in home. When they cook meal they take special care about cleanliness and sanctity and knead the flour with amrit. Those phulkas are now prasadey. (god’s gift). While cooking they recite waheguru’s name or some shabad. Entire food becomes prasad and carries strong positive vibration of bliss. Everbody accepts same with reverence and food taken by family members is likely to elevate each one. It changes atmosphere of home with more happiness and love among family members.
